Yunz.com is dedicated to true Southwest PA people, here from birth or by choice. Those who share the proud tradition of rugged individualism, patriotic fervor, dedication to family and passion for community that is the envy of the nation. While we revel in our big-city, small-town mindset, we celebrate a genuinely blessed lifestyle. Spread out amongst the rolling hills and valleys at the foothills of the Alleghenies, we are bound together by the spirit of men and women gone before us who forged our region from black coal and hot steel. And then, when the steel ran out, we forged ourselves again around the new technologies of a media driven generation.
Let there be no doubt of our character. We are secretaries battling traffic each day to pound out the pulse of our hometown commerce. We are assembly line workers who slap it all together for a better tomorrow. We are the nurses and doctors pouring out compassion in our world-renowned medical facilities. We are school teachers dedicated to molding one more mind on its journey to a lifetime of success. We are community leaders who stretch an extra penny out of every dollar to keep us comfortable. We are the police officers and firefighters who lay it all on the line every day to keep us safe. We are executives and business owners who gamble their futures every month in a frightening economy, affording us opportunity to provide for our families. We are the mom’s and dad’s, friends and family, who work all day and then volunteer evenings to make a better life for our children. We are the organizations banded together in common purpose to afford us refuge, food and shelter in times of need. We are the priests, pastors and church members who stand firm against the tide of darkness threatening to wash away our dignity. And we are the soldiers, sailors and airmen who hold vigilant guard over us here, and far from home.
